The Maribyrnong Youth Accommodation Program (MYAP)
MYAP provides case management support to young people aged between 16-25 in the inner west region of Melbourne who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The program has a focus on culturally and linguistically diverse young people.
What we offer:
- Housing related information and advocacy
- Help to secure long-term accommodation either in private rental, public, community housing or with their families
- Assistance to address the barriers that may prevent access to long term accommodation;
- Assistance to help develop the skills needed by young people to manage independent living
- Appropriate referrals to specialist services when required
- Links to culturally and linguistically appropriate services when required.
Eligibility:
- Young people aged 16 to 25 years (including parents aged between 16 and 25 and their children)
- Homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Need to be willing to participate in the support program, which involves at least fortnightly meetings
- In receipt of an independent income;
- Able to manage independent living;
- Willing to receive support in the western suburbs of Melbourne.

- Homeless or at risk of homelessness;
- Need to be willing to participate in the support program, which involves at least fortnightly meetings
- In receipt of an independent income;
- Able to manage independent living;
- Willing to receive support in the western region of Melbourne.
Access:
Contact the access point, Unison. Unison will complete an assessment and if eligible, and a vacancy exists, the person will be referred to Wombat’s Youth Support Program. A more comprehensive assessment will be completed with the support worker to confirm eligibility.
If you are living in temporary accommodation or at risk of homelessness, you can contact a youth support worker for advice & information. We are able to provide a supported referral assessment which allows us to assess your needs & make the necessary referrals to the access point (Unison) for support or simply just offer some advice.
