Liz Stringer Teams Up with Wombat Housing to Spotlight Australia’s Housing Crisis
Melbourne-born singer-songwriter Liz Stringer is partnering with Wombat Housing Support Services to raise awareness of Australia’s ongoing housing crisis through her upcoming To Survive national tour.

Running from late October to December 2025, Liz’s 17-date tour will visit major cities and regional towns across Australia, bringing her powerful music alongside a spotlight on the real stories behind housing insecurity. This collaboration builds on Liz’s longstanding commitment to social equity and her previous support for Wombat, including a successful fundraiser in 2021.
One of the many stories that underscores the urgency of this issue is that of Jade, a young mum from Melbourne’s west. Facing the risk of losing her home, Jade needed more than advice—she needed someone to listen and stand by her side. With Wombat’s tailored support, advocacy, and practical guidance, Jade was able to navigate her challenges and build a safer future for her family.
Liz’s latest album, The Second High, features the poignant track “To Survive,” which speaks to themes of resilience and hope in the face of hardship—values that deeply resonate with Wombat’s work supporting people at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
“Housing is a human right.… It’s never sat right with me that a country as rich as Australia should allow some of its constituents to live so precariously while others become more and more wealthy.… I feel that I have a social responsibility… to provide support for those people where I can,” Liz said.
For over 30 years, Wombat has been providing person-centred support to individuals and families facing or at risk of homelessness in Melbourne’s west. Combining deep community knowledge with innovative tools like their AI-powered assistant, WomBot, Wombat offers practical advocacy and early intervention to help people secure stable housing and rebuild their lives.
This partnership amplifies Wombat’s message and impact, bringing national attention to housing insecurity and demonstrating how art and advocacy can join forces for social change.
