Services for Young People

Koala Program:

The Koala program is early intervention and support for young people aged 16-18 who are preparing to leave DHS care, are identified as being at risk of homelessness, have the capacity to develop the skills to live in supported accommodation, and have limited community connections. The young people are identified by DHS approximately 12 months prior to leaving care, the program has the capacity to support the young person for up to two years.

Ideally the program will assist with the development of a transition plan, assess the young person's skills and housing options whilst developing a wrap around support package in consultation with other professional to assist the young person to develop the skills required to live independently.
