About Wombat Housing and Support Services
Wombat Housing and Support Services provides services to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in the West of Melbourne.
Wombat has programs for young people, older adults, families, single adults and people in public housing. Wombat also delivers SHASP in the West, the Social Housing Advocacy and Support Program for people in public housing. Many other organisations also use Wombat’s services.
Services provided through our programs include support services, housing services and material aid.
Wombat has a voluntary Board of Management that sets its strategic direction, a paid staff group which delivers its services, a Program Manager who oversees the Programs and a CEO who is responsible for the operations of the organisation.
Wombat is a not for profit community based organisation that is an incorporated association registered in Victoria. Wombat is a Public Benevolent Institution and therefore donations to Wombat are tax deductible.
Wombat is based in North Melbourne but much of its work is delivered through an outreach model - Wombat goes where it’s needed and where it suits the people who use its services.
Wombat also runs the Secretariat for the North and West Homelessness Network.
