Asylum Seekers Support Program

Who the Asylum Seeker Support Program is for:
• Families and single people seeking asylum

What is provided:

• Support and assistance to:
» Access services, food and other day to day necessities
» Find long term housing
• Housing
» All properties provided with household goods and bedding
» Paid utilities
• Wombat programs
» One place in each Wombat program is dedicated to asylum
seekers

What is the purpose:
• To house and support people seeking asylum

Who is eligible:
• Families
• Single adults
• People seeking asylum
• Homeless or at risk of homelessness
• Willing to participate in the program
• Needing the support of the program
• Able to manage daily living arrangements

What it involves:
• Making a plan with the support worker
• Weekly meetings with the support worker/s
• Regular phone contact with the support worker/s
• A commitment to participation in the program
• Involvement with other support services as needed

How to get into the program:
• Contact the program worker/s
• Complete a referral form with the worker to determine

eligibility
• Assessment in person with the support worker/s
• Eligible people are matched to the vacancy
